Arka Gdynia suffered a painful home defeat, losing 1-2 to Polonia Warszawa on Saturday. The decisive goal for the visitors came in the 88th minute from Kacper Kostorz, dashing the hosts' hopes of even a point.

The result leaves Arka in 16th place in the I Liga table with 11 points from ten games played. It marks their third loss in the last five league matches, with the team's record now standing at three wins, two draws, and five defeats.

The match started promisingly for the yellow-and-blues. In the 17th minute, Gutkovskis opened the scoring from a pass by Gojny. The lead did not last until halftime, however, as Dadok equalised for Polonia in the 38th minute. The visitors proved more clinical in the dying moments.

Arka's next test is a Sunday away match against Lechia Gdańsk. Their rivals currently sit in a strong fourth place in the table. The last meeting between these sides ended in a 2-2 draw. The match is scheduled for October 18th at the Polsat Plus Arena, with kick-off at 20:30.

Manager Tomasz Grzegorczyk confirmed the captain's armband has returned to Dawid Gojny. He also changed the formation, pushing Alassane Sidibe up alongside Vladislavs Gutkovskis. "I wanted to change something to shake up the team," the coach said. The team's goal difference now stands at 12 scored and 13 conceded. The next match is this Sunday.
