Arka Gdynia are preparing for the Tricity derby against Lechia Gdańsk this Sunday. The I Liga match, the 11th round of the season, will be played on October 18th at Lechia's stadium. For a team with a record of three wins and two draws from ten games, and a recent form of three losses and two draws, it will be a tough challenge.

The Gdynia side return to action following a 1-2 defeat to Polonia Warszawa last weekend. Arka currently sit 16th in the table, having collected just 11 points from their opening ten games. That leaves them just one point above the relegation zone. The manager and players know a result in the derby could be a turning point, especially as the team has only been in a winning position for 47 minutes across their last five league matches. Their goal difference this season stands at 12 scored and 13 conceded.

The last meeting between these sides, in February, ended in a 2-2 draw. Lechia Gdańsk, who are currently fourth in the league, will be strong favourites at home. For Arka, however, this is a chance to break a poor run of form, they have won only one, drawn one, and lost three of their last five league matches.

The club has published official match previews. Live coverage will be available on public television. Arka's next fixture after the derby is at home to GKS Katowice on October 26th.

In their last match, Vladislavs Gutkovskis scored Arka's only goal. His form will be vital if the visitors are to take anything from Gdańsk. The team is also ten points behind league leaders Pogoń Grod. Mazowiecki. The following week brings more league challenges, but first, all focus is on Saturday's derby.
