Arka Gdynia manager Tomasz Grzegorczyk admitted that Lechia Gdańsk were the better team in Sunday's Tricity derby. His side lost 2-1 away from home, continuing a dismal run of form in the league. The club sits 15th in the I Liga with just 11 points from 11 games, having recorded three wins, two draws, and six defeats.

“The opponent was better, they deserved the win,” Grzegorczyk said after the match. The boss of the Yellow-and-Blues noted that his players failed to maintain their intensity for the full 90 minutes, which ultimately decided the outcome.

The match at the Stadion Energa Gdańsk was a fiery affair, but Arka could not hold onto their lead. After Vladimirs Gutkovskis equalised in the 47th minute, the hosts' winner came just four minutes later. The key assist for Kevin Dodaj's decisive goal was provided by Artem Shakh, who had earlier opened the scoring himself. This marks Arka's second consecutive loss, with their recent form in the last five league matches reading one win and four defeats. Prior results include a 1-2 loss to Polonia Warszawa, a 3-2 win over IFK Goteborg, and defeats to Pogoń Siedlce (1-2) and Warta Poznań (0-3).

This defeat marks Arka's fourth loss in their last five I Liga matches. The Gdynia-based club now sits in 15th place with just 11 points. They trail the leaders, Pogoń Grod. Mazowiecki, by a significant 10-point margin. The team's form is a major concern, with only one win recorded in their last five league outings. Their season's tally stands at 13 goals scored and 15 conceded, giving them a goal difference of minus two.

The next opportunity to stop the rot comes on Saturday, 24 October. Arka will host Nieciecza, a team currently in 8th position. Grzegorczyk and his squad must find a way to start picking up points to move away from the relegation zone.
