Arka Gdynia will face Lechia Gdańsk in the Derby Trójmiasta on Sunday 18 October at 20:30. The match will be played at Polsat Plus Arena Gdańsk and could attract up to 37,500 spectators, including around 1,800 away fans. This clash is significant for Arka, who after a good start to the season have suffered a series of defeats and currently sit 12th in I Liga with 11 points from nine games.
The Gdańsk-based club is aiming to sell 37,501 tickets, which would generate revenue of around 2.5 million złoty. By noon on 7 October, the official counter showed about 27,500 tickets sold, but after accounting for blocks for Arka fans and corporate packages, approximately 5,300 tickets remained available. Prices range from 50 to 130 zł, with Prestige zone tickets from 522 to 900 zł.
The city of Gdańsk is preparing for the major event. Extra SKM trains, trams and buses have been arranged. "Today, together with the services and club representatives, we met to prepare for this event," said Piotr Borawski, deputy mayor of Gdańsk for mobility and safety.
For Arka Gdynia, it's a chance to break a poor run and improve their league position. The team is now led by Tomasz Grzegorczyk, who previously served as caretaker manager in 2024. His predecessor, Marek Jarolim, departed before this derby.
Historical statistics are not in Arka's favour. In the 48 derbies played since 1964, Lechia have won 19 times, there have been 17 draws, and Arka have won 12. The last meeting in August of last year ended in a 1-0 win for Lechia thanks to a Dawid Kurminowski goal in the 85th minute in front of 37,500 spectators.
Before the derby, Arka have one more important task, a league match against Polonia Warszawa on Saturday. It's a chance to pick up points and head to Gdańsk in better spirits.
