Marek Jarolim has been sacked as head coach of Arka Gdynia. The decision followed Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Pogoń Siedlce, which left the club 12th in the I Liga table with 11 points.

Informed Arka fan Marek Ziemian posted on X: "If nothing unexpected happens, coach Marek Jarolim will be dismissed after the match with Pogoń Siedlce." The club has now confirmed the move. Jarolim took over on 17 June and signed a contract until 30 June 2028, assisted by Pavel Nemec, Martin Cerveny and Tomas Pokorny.

The Favourite to Replace Him

According to the same sources, Robert Kolendowicz is set to become the new manager. "The new coach of Arka, according to several sources, would be Robert Kolendowicz," Ziemian added. Kolendowicz previously managed Pogoń Siedlce. Other names mentioned included Aleksandar Vuković and Tomasz Grzegorczyk, while the club also considered buying out Becelli's contract from Chrobry Głogów.

The Decision's Context

For the club's board, led by president Wojciech Pertkiewicz, recent results were unacceptable. Arka have taken just five points from their last six matches. In Saturday's game, goals from Maciej Rosołek (37') and Szymon Kobusiński (70') secured the win for Pogoń, with Konrad Gruszkowski (43') scoring a consolation for Arka.

This is the second managerial change in the I Liga this season, after Janusz Niedźwiedź left Miedź Legnica. Arka Gdynia's record now stands at 3 wins, 2 draws and 4 defeats, with a goal difference of 11-11. The team is five points off the second promotion spot and just two points above the relegation zone.

The first test for the new boss comes on 10 October against Polonia Warszawa, who currently sit 6th.
