Arka Gdynia have appointed a new head coach. The club has officially confirmed that Dawid Banaczek will take charge of the first team.

Banaczek, who previously worked at Arka as an assistant coach, has signed a contract running until the end of the 2026/27 season. "This is a huge honour and a challenge for me," the new manager said in the club's statement. "I know this club and I believe we can build something good."

The decision comes with the team sitting 12th in the I Liga table, having collected 11 points from their opening nine matches. Their recent form shows one win, two draws, and two losses from the last five outings.

The club emphasised that Banaczek's appointment is driven by his familiarity with the environment and a desire for stability. His first test will be a fixture against Polonia Warszawa, scheduled for October 10th.

Arka Gdynia lost their last league match 2-1 to Pogoń Siedlce, with Kacper Gruszkowski scoring their solitary goal. The team now has just under two weeks to work with the new boss before the league campaign resumes.
