Marek Jarolim has been officially appointed as the new head coach of Arka Gdynia.

Jarolim, who has previously managed clubs including Cracovia and Górnik Łęczna, is set to start work immediately. “This is a huge challenge and an honour for me,” the new coach said in his first comments. “I know the potential of this club and I believe we can build a team that fights for aims higher than just survival.”

The change in the dugout comes at a critical point in the season. Arka Gdynia sit 12th in the I Liga after nine matches, with just 11 points. Their goal difference is even at 11 scored and 11 conceded, but recent form is a concern. Their last five results show one win, two draws and two defeats, including a 2-1 loss to Pogoń Siedlce on September 20.

The club emphasised the decision is driven by the need for stability and improved performances. Jarolim faces a tough immediate test, as Arka host a strong Polonia Warszawa side, currently sixth in the table, on October 10.

The new manager has already held his first meeting with the players. His priorities will be to solidify a defence that has been leaky in recent weeks and to get more from the team's attacking potential. The full squad roster he will work with is available in the squad section.

Jarolim's contract with Arka runs until the end of the current season with an option for a further year if objectives are met. His first official match in charge of the Yellow-Blues will be against Polonia Warszawa.
