Arka Gdynia defeated Resovia 4-0 in an away Polish Cup first-round match, despite fielding a largely reserve side under manager Marek Jarolim. Goals from Elmedin Rama (two), Jakub Kowalski and Elian Demirović secured the win, with Rama and Kowalski scoring their first official goals for the club. Rama opened the scoring in the third minute after a pass from Jakub Kun, and Kowalski doubled the lead in the 48th minute with a powerful shot from the edge of the box. Rama added his second in the 54th minute following a Pawłowski assist, and Demirović sealed the victory in the 80th minute after a counter-attack initiated by Krefft.

Despite the comfortable scoreline, the match was marked by controversy. In the 77th minute, Marek Jarolim received two yellow cards within seconds for protesting the referee’s failure to award penalty kicks, resulting in his dismissal from the technical area. Arka, however, maintained control throughout, preserving a clean sheet despite Resovia’s occasional threats, including a header from Geņc that hit the post after a block by Grobelny.

Referee Sebastian Krasny of Kraków, assisted by Mucha and Ogiela, officiated without VAR, which was unavailable for the fixture. Arka managed 11 shots, only one on target, while Resovia also managed a single effort on goal. The win extended Arka’s streak to 46 consecutive official matches without conceding a penalty.

Following the victory, Arka awaits the draw for the next round of the Polish Cup on September 17. The team can now refocus on league action, where they currently hold a stable mid-table position in I Liga, viewable on our standings page. Their next league fixture is against Polonia Bytom, with details available on fixtures.

Manager Marek Jarolim, despite his dismissal in this match, remains central to Arka’s project blending experience and youth, evidenced by the debuts of Kowalski and Demirović.
