Arka Gdynia picked up a point on the road against Miedź Legnica. The fourth-round I liga fixture finished in a 1-1 draw.
The hosts opened the scoring in the 33rd minute from a penalty spot. Bartosz Śpiączka converted the kick. Arka replied only late in the game. Kacper Sezonienko equalised in the 75th minute, finishing a move from the right flank. It was his first goal of the season.
Both sides had opportunities
Miedź Legnica held the upper hand in the first half and could have extended their lead. Arka goalkeeper Mateusz Abramowicz was called into action several times. After the break, the initiative shifted to the visitors. Arka manager Dariusz Marzec made substitutions that paid off with the goal. The final minutes were played with greater urgency from the Gdynia side, but they could not find a winning strike.
“We are pleased with the character we showed in the second half,” Dariusz Marzec said after the match. “A point away always has value, but we know we could have won.”
For Arka Gdynia, this is already their second draw of the season. In the I liga table, the team now has five points after four rounds. Arka's next match is at home against Górnik Łęczna on Saturday, 29 August. The full autumn schedule is available in the fixtures section.
Final preparations for Saturday's clash will begin with training in Gdynia on Thursday.
