Arka Gdynia completes cash transfer. Maciej Ambrosiewicz returns after 12 years
Arka Gdynia officially confirmed the signing of Maciej Ambrosiewicz from Bruk-Bet Termalika Nieciecza. The club's academy graduate returned to Gdynia after 12 years, signing a contract until June 30, 2029. The club from the Tri-City reportedly paid around 300,000 złoty for the midfielder. Last season, Ambrosiewicz made 33 appearances, scored 1 goal, and experienced relegation from the Ekstraklasa. Arka Gdynia, currently in 17th place with 36 points (9W-9D-16L), hopes to strengthen the squad ahead of the new season.
The 34-year-old midfielder began his career at SI Arka Gdynia, moving to MFK Karvina in 2014. His career includes 112 Ekstraklasa appearances for Górnik Zabrze, Wisła Płock, and Bruk-Bet Termalika Nieciecza, scoring 1 goal. In the second tier, he made 152 appearances and scored 16 goals. He also played 10 matches for Poland's youth national teams.
Ambrosiewicz, who primarily plays as a defensive midfielder, will compete for a starting spot with Szymon Lewkot and Michał Rzuchowski. The club still has funds for transfers and plans to sign a 15th player this window. Arka Gdynia, with a record of 0W-2D-3L in their last five matches, aims to improve results in the new season.
